Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan,
JesRose has pursued her fine art photography degree for many reasons.
She has studied at The College for Creative Studies since the fall of 2000.
She graduated with a BFA in Photography in May of 2007.
JesRose has studied several areas of the art form including traditional
and digital methods. Some of her favorite mediums and formats include large format photography, pinhole cameras, 35mm, and traditional black and white
printing methods. Her favorite subject matter most often deals with social, psychological, cultural, and personal issues. Some of JesRose’s influences include Dave Heath, Larry Clark, Antonin Kratochvil, and Barbara Ess. JesRose is exhilarated about
both the technical and the aesthetic sides of photography, black and white and color alike. She has a heartfelt passion for film and uses both her skills in the archival darkroom as well as the digital lab to touch people of all kinds with her art.
